1. Take the stairs in your office building instead of taking the elevator. It is amazing that just climbing stairs for 6 minutes can burn enough calories to help you lose weight. What's even better - you didn't spend an hour leaving home to go to the gym and working out on machines for 30 - 40 minutes, or have to pay for that gym membership.

2. Going on a brisk walk for 30 minutes outside on your lunch hour can refresh your mind as well as exercise your body.

3. Working in the garden, pulling weeds and digging up plants not only uses up calories, it beautifies your world and can make for a peaceful retreat.

4. Play volleyball with friends and family. It will slim your physique as well as help you catch up on what's happening with your loved ones.

5. Go dancing! Salsa or disco dancing is a lot of fun as well as a good route to burn calories. One caution though, when you take a break, drink water, not alcohol. Many people don't stop and think of how alcohol is almost pure sugar. It will defeat your efforts to lose weight.
