The Importance of Setting Up Your Physical Exercise Goals

You've decided to start working out on that amazing machine you own-your body. That's a great decision. But, Hold on one minute; Patience is a virtue my friend. Before you go and conquer the gym, you need to set your physical exercise goals.

Take a pen and a notebook and make a list of the main goals you want to achieve through your training.

For example:

Main Goal 1 - Lose Weight or reduce body fat.
Main Goal 2 - Increase muscle mass.
Main Goal 3 - Improve aerobic shape.
Main Goal 4 - Improve Strength

You get the idea. If you only have one goal, that's perfectly fine also. Now, create sub-goals for each main goal. You can divide your sub-goals to areas in your body that you want to concentrate on in the training process. For example, under "reduce body fat" you can write belly, legs, and chest. In the aerobics goal you can divide your sub-goals by time (Week one, Week two, etc).

I recommend you to spend the time, and do this process for all the goals that you set for yourself, until you have a full result-achieving-driven plan. Be as much targeted as you can in this process. You will be amazed how much this will benefit your results.

There is a reason that it is so important for me to recommend you to do that process by yourself. The reason is that in my years of experience as a personal trainer, I've seen too many gyms that will happily accept you as a member, take your money, and that's it! You're on your own now. They won't help you setting your goals, or help you build a training program, unless you have the ability to pay for personal training sessions.

That is the reason many people stop training after a short time. They decided to start working out, but they don't have any program to follow, so they just jump from one exercise to another, and when they don't see result they quit.

Now you are ready to do the most important thing of all...Take action.
Enjoy!
